The rooms here are fantastic and reasonably spacious. A microwave and a refrigerator are a nice touch.

We were in a favourable and ideal location relatively close to Lake el Estero.
The room was very outdated.

Leaving
No coffee maker, hair dryer, iron, or clock. The room was small and uninviting. There were just 2 folding type chairs and 1 chair that was messed up. The TV was postage stamp size and the volume would not go up after turning it down. The owners were trying so hard to save money that there was nothing offered to make the room enjoyable. Everything was old and well-used. The worst part was the plastic cover on the mattress that rustled every time anyone moved. I felt that room was falsely advertised through the pictures that were on the web site.

Actually, nothing it appeared to be build in the sixty. felt like a motel 8. would not stay there again. price was too high for this place. $39.99 would be more like it. would not recommend to anyone. it has a smell about it.
The bed was comfortable and fireplace.

I booked it because I thought the fireplace would make for a cozy room.
It did not meet my expectations.

It was clean and very quiet - no traffic, trains, etc. The free wireless was nice plus. Room included a kitchenette but no utensils/plates/glasses.
No ice bucket or bag to get free ice by office, also no hair dryer. Office closed by 10 pm and didn't open again until 9 am (after we were gone for the day).

Staff was pleasant.
It is in need of a makeover. Very worn furniture. Dirty, stained carpet. It is the first hotel that I have stayed in which there were sewn patches on the pillowcases. Toilet seat needs to be replaced.

It was quiet, convenient to Monterey's downtown and to Hwy 1, reasonably priced. The manager gave us great recommendations for places to eat, and were very accommodating.

This, ummm... Hotel was very close to the Fisherman's Wharf, which was great for us. The bathroom area is separated from the sleeping area in such a way that midnight trips don't disturb your co-habitants. The room also has a small refridgerator and a microwave, perfect for heating up a late meal or early breakfast.
Vinyl. Yes, vinyl... On the bed. Under one very thin & cheap sheet, the mattress is covered by plastic-y vinyl. There is a fireplace, but you'll be charged extra to use that. There was also a small kitchen area... Right in front of the bed. But don't bother planning to use it because the stove doesn't have any burners.

There is no breakfast. It seems the hotel needs some work for making it look better. The lady in reception was not very helpful and she did not speak well English.
